There are still doubts about the Norse and Germanic symbols which most people still think of them as hate symbols, which isn't true, but during the WWII the Nazis made a very good propaganda to those symbols and it inserted fear into the hearts of all. But we live in the XXI century and it is time to differentiate ancient history and the meaning of symbols with the use of the same but in modern times and with political purposes.
The swastika in India was the synonymous of life and regeneration. It is the oldest relic of the generative and regenerative powers of nature, such as the Fylfot for the ancient Germanic peoples. The forces of sexuality and nature were personified as being subjected to the gods regency with the purpose of being elevated from their earthly condition to pass into a spiritually transfiguration.
It was the feminine aspect that served as a unifier of the male triad, thus forming the four sacred facets. Freyja, as the supreme theophany female, is always present among the major gods of Asgard, Odin, Thor and Tyr.
The male triad is also represented by Odin and his two brothers, Vili and Vé.
Odin is unity. It is the pure self, the higher consciousness, the purest energy. Odin originally represented the anger, the flame of combat, the deity of Shamanism, trance, the music, the ecstasy and enchantment.
Vili is the pure universal will that becomes the individual expression of the will of transformation, evolution and change. This is the challenge to find and reveal the will of our spiritual existence. The higher self that shows us the power of transformation, the impulse of evolution, authenticity and spiritual attribute. The real spiritual vocation of the individual.
Vé is the sanctuary, the sacred grove, natural temple, he is revealed in the body or created in nature. The primary forest of the Germanic peoples, the Urwald.

Nowadays watching Norse/Germanic pagan symbols on a necklace, tattooed on someone's skin or anyother place such as a wall, a book and so on, still leaves people somewhat uncomfortable, probably in fear at some point, but why does this happen?
Well, Norse/Germanic symbols weren't symbols of hatred, the Germanic peoples used the runes (The Elder Futhark) as much as the Norse (Younger Futhark) as their own alphabet, for divination, spiritual rituals, magic and so on, certainly they weren't white supremacists or racist skinheads, but somehow people still fear those symbols. Well in truth it is easy to know why, during the Third Reich the Nazis used a lot of Norse/Germanic symbols, for example the Hagall rune was very much present on the SS Totenkopfring or even the two Sowelu runes for the very SS symbol, and of course the Swastika, a major symbol used by many cultures including the many European cultures such as the Slavic ones, Germanic, Norse and Lusitanian, but again, these weren't racist people, but during the Third Reich, these symbols left a negative mark in the hearts of the European and watching those symbols again, brings the memory of horrible times, but the symbols themselves aren't hate symbols, it was the Nazis that brought terror along with those.
Obviously it's not just the Nazis fault, for centuries we live on a society that has been for too long obsessed by Classical Antiquity, and we treasure it as the most important source of ancient European history, which left all the other European cultures in the shadow and forgetfulness. In general, all that people knew about Norse/Germanic symbols came from the Nazis and nothing more and the problem also is that the Neo-Nazis still use these symbols and they don't know the true meaning of those symbols, they only focus on the hatred brought by the Nazis. Another major problem is that many people with Christian backgrounds still feel that heathen convictions, faith and religious symbols may be dangerous, especially if associated with Norse/Germanic culturs. Whatever your religion may be, as a child we have all been educated in schools long dominated by Christians that such symbols are linked to the Nazis only, and the only Ancient European civilisations that are taught are the Classical ones, such as the Greek and the Roman.
In my point of view, we should start teaching our children the other side of history especially when it comes to powerful symbols that they might find all over the place their entire life, they will probably be ignorant about it and think that a lie, or omiting the truth, is the only truth available.
For example, the Bluetooth technology on every mobile phone, take a close look at the symbol there, It is actually a bindrune, that is two blended runes, the Hagall and Bjarkan. These two represent the initials of the 10th century viking king Harald Blåtand (Bluetooth), who ordered the Jelling stones to be erected. I really doubt that the Bluetooth team are a hate group, they certainly aren't racists, and their rune logo doesn't scare people away I'm sure.

Many people have asked me why i use some times the Swastika symbol in my artistic works, so i have decided to explain that in here, at my blog and in fact it is a good subject for the theme of my blog.
Most of people are afraid of this symbol because of its dark background in the history of humankind in the time of Nazism, and yes, it was a terrible time indeed, but this symbol was not created with the purpose of spreading terror, oppression, fascism or racism.
This symbol has in fact, accompanied all kinds of people through the history of humankind, and to be more precise, this symbol has been found in caves since the neolithic period.
Some of you may be familiar with this symbol has a symbol of the induism religion in India, but as i have told back there, this symbol remotes to older times, it was used by the romans and by the greeks and before that, was used by the neolithic people and it differs its meaning from culture to culture. But its main symbolism is the sun and its power.
Long before religions had been created, the Swastika was one of the many Shamanic symbols used by the shamans, a symbol to "describe" the sun and the power it has over the entire natural world. It is also a symbol of the four cardinal points and it is also a symbol for the four forces of nature, the Sun, the Wind, the Water and the Earth.
When we talk about shamans, we often think about the Shamans of Siberia, but this profession, is not only practiced in Siberia, it had been and still is practiced throughout the world. This symbol was used by the Sami people in the North of Europe in Scandinavia, by the Germanic peoples such as the Celts, Swabians, Vikings, Saxons and Anglo-Saxons, also by the mediterranian people all the way from Portugal to Greece, the Lusitanians, the Romans, the Greeks, and all the way to the slavic people in Russia, Poland, Romania, Ukrain etc. to the South and North Americas and to Asia.
This symbol was passed down by all, even from Siberia to the Native people of Alaska and then to the Native Indians of America, the Navajo people etc. etc.
So this symbol has always been important to the human race, for at least 30.000 B.C. , of course the symbol and its meaning is diferent from place to place even to the Sami people, which represents the God of Thunder, Old Thor, this is an exemple, but its main meaning was the Sun and the powers of the Natural World.
